Life is told by who writes it

Now the mariam webster dictionary has a whole article on this word “adulting”( I’ll add the link below if anyone is interested) but according to urban dictionary adulting is describe as ” to carry out one or more of the duties and responsibilities expected of fully developed individuals (paying off that credit card debt, settling beef without blasting social media, etc). Exclusively used by those who adult less than 50% of the time .” Now this is what I am am referring to! Now when I look at my parents generation “adulting” wasn’t so hard…I am not discrediting the hardship they put up with and I have heard my mothers story and her journey to the US. But my mom’s like many other immigrants parents stories are different when we hear the many much older adults saying “Oh back when I was young..” or ” I had two cars , house and a family by the time I was 22″ and?

Let me say this “adulting” back when you’ll was our age sounds great! But in my generation.. We can barely “adult” much…not because we are lazy. No not that! But this economy, my student debts, and the social pressure to be great, I can barely get out of bed some mornings. Don’t worry, I try to “adult “as much as possible… but with restrictions like these, I’m not sure if we’ll be able to get there. I just wish people (older adults) understood that.
